The National Agricultural Development Company (NADEC) has signed an agreement with Pure Harvest Smart Farms to acquire the assets of a high-tech greenhouse project in Haradh for a total value of SAR 85 million. The agreement supports NADEC’s strategy to expand its advanced agriculture and value-added crop operations while improving the efficiency and sustainability of local production.
The facility spans approximately six hectares and is located within NADEC’s operations in Haradh. It uses hydroponic systems and climate-control technologies to grow a range of fresh tomato varieties, including large tomatoes and cherry tomatoes, year-round in a controlled agricultural environment.
The agreement covers the high-tech greenhouse facility and its supporting infrastructure, including greenhouse structures, equipment, subsystems and certain operational assets. The facility has been operational since 2022 and was developed and operated by Pure Harvest using controlled-environment agriculture technologies.
The agreement is part of NADEC’s strategy to strengthen its capabilities in high-tech protected agriculture and expand into advanced agriculture and value-added crops. It is also expected to support greater operational integration and efficiency while further developing the company’s agricultural business.
Following completion of the transaction, the facility is expected to strengthen NADEC’s production and operational capabilities in protected agriculture and support the continuity and stability of revenue from its agricultural business. The investment also supports local production in line with NADEC’s strategy, Saudi Arabia’s food security objectives and Vision 2030.
