The National Agricultural Development Company NADEC and the Naqaa Environmental Association have signed a cooperation agreement to support the Naqaa Environmental Forest Project at Qassim National Park by providing 100,000 native seedlings suited to the region’s environment. The initiative will help expand vegetation cover and aligns with national efforts, including the targets of the Saudi Green Initiative.
The agreement forms part of NADEC’s commitment to protecting the environment and developing natural resources through initiatives and projects that promote sustainability and raise awareness of the importance of preserving vegetation cover and combating desertification. It also reflects the company’s role in supporting environmental initiatives with a positive community impact and strengthening partnerships with organizations working in the environmental sector.
The partnership also reflects the Naqaa Environmental Association’s efforts to protect natural resources and promote environmental awareness and community participation. The Association’s programs and initiatives include recycling, awareness workshops and events, as well as supporting tree planting and the expansion of vegetation cover.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Solaiman bin Abdulaziz Al-Twaijri, CEO of NADEC, and Mr. Zaid bin Musaid Al-Harbi, Chairman of the Board of the Naqaa Environmental Association. The Association will implement the project and oversee the planting and care of the seedlings in coordination with the relevant authorities.
The agreement also provides for documenting the project’s progress and outcomes, and for providing NADEC with semiannual reports and a final report covering implementation stages, key outcomes, and the initiative’s environmental and community impact.
